Employee Spotlight: Wendell Stainsby
This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on our very own Wendell Stainsby, Manager of Measurement & Verification, as he begins his term this week as a newly appointed member of the City of Fort Collins’ Energy Board. The Energy Board’s mission is to advise the City Council on a diverse array of crucial topics, spanning from energy system enhancements and policy frameworks to efficiency programs, carbon emissions, and climate goals, all with a focus on their impact on local ratepayers. Beyond the climate impact held in his day-to-day work at Power TakeOff, Wendell will now be an additional force behind Fort Collins’ green initiatives. To learn more about this accomplishment, we asked him some questions.
What are you looking forward to most about being on the board?
“It gives me the opportunity to have deep insight into what is happening within my community. Fort Collins has aggressive 2030 climate targets so there is a lot of work happening. I will get to meet and network with a lot of important movers within Fort Collins City and Northern Colorado utility operations. I hope to provide a younger generation’s perspective, and to give back by asking the right critical questions when needed. I am also really looking forward to shaking up my normal routine.”
Why does this role resonate with you beyond your work at Power TakeOff?
“I anticipate learning so much in the energy/utility space just by being present in these meetings. I also love politics and local government, so I am excited to be better dialed into what is happening in the city. I hope to contribute toward advising on energy policy that improves my city and moves us forward”.
Congratulations, Wendell! We can’t wait to witness your passion, expertise, and dedication to sustainability catalyze positive change within our local community and beyond.
