Power TakeOff Celebrates Earth Day 2023
Every year on April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the modern environmental movement that began in San Francisco, California over 50 years ago. Today, Earth Day is widely recognized by more than a billion people as a day of action to promote environmental protection. Energy efficiency plays a crucial role in tackling climate change specifically by reducing GHG emissions, from fossil fuel combustion or consumption.
At Power TakeOff, we celebrate #earthday every day, with our dedicated team of climate advocates putting energy efficiency at the center of our work for people and the planet. In the last year, Power TakeOff achieved 54 GWh of first-year energy savings for our utility business customers; approximating VCx lifetime savings of 384 GWh. Those savings are also equivalent to:
- 94,164 tons of waste recycled instead of landfilled*
- 324,525 acres of forest would be needed to cover the emissions equivalent*

In addition to our services impacts, our team celebrates Earth Month by doing a volunteer day at each of our office hubs in Denver, CO and Kitchener, Ontario. This year, both hubs will be participating in doing trash and debris cleanup at local parks.
Thank you to our team and partners for joining us in our mission to create an energy efficient future for people and the planet. Happy Earth Day!
